Born in The Bronx, New York City, United States, Frehley grew up in a musical household. So, his family inspired and nurtured his musical abilities. When in 1964 he received an electric guitar as a Christmas present he started to practice rigorously. He started playing at the age of 13. Frehley attended two high schools and during that time he earned his name Ace. He could easily get dates, that’s why everyone called him Ace. Frehley started his solo journey when he formed Frehley’s Comet in 1984. The group released their first album Frehley’s Comet in 1987. The album trended #44 on Billboard 200 which sold half a million copies. Frehley dropped Frehley’s Comet in 1989 and released the new songs under his name.
Frehley reunited with Kiss in 1996 for a tour and left again in 2001. Later in 2019, he didn’t participate in Kiss’s final tour. In 2020 his biography was in production which had a release date in 2024. In 2024 Frehley will release a new album 10,000 Volts.
Frehley also released his autobiography in 2011. No Regrets – A Rock ‘N’ Roll Memoir became The New York Times Best Seller in the nonfiction category.
