The Augusta National Women’s Amateur shortly for ANWA has been taking place at the Champion Retreat Golf Club in Georgia from April 3 to April 4. From April 5 to 6 the event will be taking place at the Augusta National Golf Club. The final round will take place on the 6th and a practice round before that on the 5th.
Augusta National Women’s Amateur 2024 Preview:
The event is a 54-hole stroke play, first played in 2019. It is played right before the Masters Tournament. Players receive the benefit of invitation to next five ANWAs as well as US Women’s Open and Women’s British Open. Moreover the winner will be eligible for Chevron Championship 2024, Evian Championship 2024, USGA and PGA of America for a year.
The event kicks off with top 72 amateur players competing for the prestigious title that has huge benefits of going pro. The players don’t get to earn any prize money as this is an amateur event. But the winner gets the benefits of invitations to various tours mentioned before.
Last year Rose Zhang won the title after being in the top position as an amateur for more than two years. Even though she didn’t win any prize money for her success she became a pro and went on to earn more than $1.5 million on LPGA Tour.
Augusta National Women’s Amateur 2024 Purse:
There is no purse for the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. The winner receives several benefits to jump-start their career as a pro and earn their prize money in the pro tours. Moreover, the winner retains the invitation to various tours for their performance.
