The Golden Globe Awards 2024 is set to be held on January 7. This year, it will be the 81st edition of the event. The award is considered one of the most prestigious after the Oscars. The official nomination list has already been published. This year, we’ll find all the great movies and TV series, and their directors, and actors in the nomination list. The list includes the master classes and some hyped creations of the year.
The Best Motion Picture award will be distributed in three categories this year: drama, comedy, and animation. In the Drama, we have ‘Oppenheimer’ with high hopes. The unique direction and great vision of Christopher Nolan have made the movie loved by all. We all know Nolan’s passion and hard work for each of his movies. Cillian Murphy was outstanding in the lead role.
The movie has been nominated in eight categories in this year’s Golden Globe. The director Christopher Nolan is on the nomination list for the best director, while Cillian Murphy has also been nominated for the best actor in the drama category. Emily Blunt, who acted as Kitty Oppenheimer in the movie will fight for the best supporting role (actress) in 2024. In a word, the movie has taken a lot of space in the award list.
But, we have another movie, that has been successful internationally all over the world. Yes, you are right, we are talking about the ‘Barbie’. The movie has been nominated in nine categories, including best motion picture(comedy), best screenplay, cinematic and box office achievement, and many more.
Greta Gerwig has gained enormous praise for directing the movie. He has been nominated in the best director category. Margot Robbie has been nominated in the Best Actress category, while Ryan Gosling has been nominated in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.
‘Succession’ has won nine nominations which is the highest for a TV series. The fourth season was aired in 2023 on HBO. The unique storyline and amazing screenplay have made the TV series one of the contenders to win the Best Television Series award. Sarah Snook has been nominated for the best actress category in a TV series, while Brian Cox has been nominated in the best actor category for their amazing performance in the TV series.
Apart from these, we have many big names on the nomination list. Bradley Cooper will be seen in the best actor category for his role in the movie Maestro. There were many talks on the ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, and Leonardo DiCaprio’s master class performance has kept both him and the movie on the nomination list.
In the best original song category, we have ‘What Was I Made For?’ from Barbie. Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell tried their best to make the song a masterclass. ‘Dance the Night’ and ‘I’m Just Ken’ from the same movie have been nominated in this category.
